From the streets to the Emergency Department to the Intensive Care Unit, my career has been defined by a deep commitment to patient care and a passion for acute and critical care environments. I began my journey as an EMT/Paramedic, where I learned to make split-second decisions in high-pressure environments. Eager to expand my clinical expertise, I became a Registered Nurse, gaining invaluable experience in emergency departments, intensive care units, and as a flight nurse, where I provided critical care in the most challenging conditions.
My leadership skills grew as I transitioned into administrative roles, ultimately serving as a facility director for a freestanding emergency care center. In this role, I worked to optimize patient outcomes, streamline operations, and lead multidisciplinary teams through the ever-evolving landscape of emergency care.
Now, as an incoming Internal Medicine resident physician, I bring this diverse clinical and leadership background into my training, with a focus on comprehensive, patient-centered care. My goal is to bridge the gap between acute and chronic care, ensuring that every patient receives the highest quality treatment—whether in the ER, ICU, or primary care setting.
I am passionate about medical education, healthcare leadership, technology and improving access to physician-level care, particularly in historically under served communities like the Rio Grande Valley. As I continue this journey, I remain dedicated to lifelong learning, mentorship, and making a meaningful impact in the field of medicine.
