EMS

Emergency Medical Services was the launch pad to my career in the medical field. During my undergraduate years at UT Austin, I was part of a biomedical engineering club that offered ride outs with Austin/Travis County EMS. I rode out once, got hooked and wanted to be a paramedic, so I enrolled in the summer EMT course in 2000. I continued on to become a paramedic, emergency medical dispatcher (EMD), EMS and EMD Instructor.

Currently, I maintain my paramedic and EMS Instructor certifications.
